Im using it on a late 2012 iMac, Quad 3.4GHz i7, 32GB RAM and a GeForce GTX 680MX 2GB.IOW FCPX should be designed so all plugin activity is asynchronous with respect to user input and screen output.
However it appears that is not the case, so very CPU-intensive plugins can hang the interface for certain periods. This is similar to how OS2, MacOS and Windows were designed prior to Windows NT. There was a synchronous input queue and any malfunctioning app could hang the entire UI. For this reason I suggest deferring use of Neat Video or similar plugins to the very last step, after all editing is done and all other effects are applied. Interesting that you mention the render thing cause most of the time it locks up after I render the clip in the timeline. Most of the time I dont render in the timeline now when I apply Neat Video. In general if the operating system irrevocably locks up or crashes it is a fault in the OS or hardware. It is not something an application developer could fix and normally is pursued as an OS, hardware or configuration issue. I suggest these steps: (1) Make sure everything on your Mac is backed up. Verify you have sufficient disk space on all drives (3) Run Apple Diagnostics. ![]() ![]()
